These eco makeup remover pads are a perfect alternative to disposable cotton ones. By making this swap, you will be helping the planet and saving money!
Included in the pack are:
- 16 bamboo cotton pads: 70% bamboo, 30% cotton (each pad is approximately 8cm in diameter)
- cotton mesh bag for storage and washing
Benefits:
🌱 No nasty chemicals are used when growing bamboo: Pesticides aren't used as they are naturally resistant to insects. This means they are better for your skin and don't end up polluting the sea, water systems and soil like disposable cotton pads do when they are thrown away.
🌱 Less waste: By swapping to reusable bamboo pads you will be saving water: each kilogram of cotton takes 20,000 liters of water to be produced, that is the same amount of water one person would drink over three years! Bamboo requires 1/3 of water needed to grow cotton. And of course, no more disposable cotton pads or plastic packaging will be ending up in landfills either.
🌱 Money saved: Quick math: single-use cotton pads from your local beauty retailer cost around €3 - If you use 9 bags of single-use cotton balls each year, you’ll end up spending approximately €27 compared to only the €12 for this bamboo pads set - and they can last for multiple years with proper care.
🌱 Plastic free packaging
🌱 Natural materials

Use and wash instructions
These facial pads can be used with any makeup remover, micellar water or toner.
When you are done using them, just pop them into the mesh bag (so they don’t get lost inside the washing machine like some of your socks did!) and throw them in the wash with your light coloured clothes or towels. Don't use fabric softener or stain remover as the build-up on the pads can weaken the fabric and decrease their absorbency. For best results, wash at 30°C and skip the dryer.
The pads are not pre-washed so expect some shrinkage.
If you prefer, you can also easily hand wash them with some warm water and your natural soap bar. After removing waterproof makeup, we tend to give the pads a quick scrub with soap before chucking in the washing machine.
Storage
We usually hang up the cotton mesh bag with the clean pads and use a glass jar to keep hold of the dirty ones (until there are enough of them to wash).
End of life
After you have used up all of the uses left in your cotton reusable pads, please dispose of them in textile recycling containers where they will be sent for shredding and used, for instance, as furniture stuffing.
If you are based in Germany, you can check the location of your nearest textile recycling container here.
